“Lost Whispers” EP – previously unreleased recordings from the “Celtic Harp Tales” sessions

“Lost Whispers”, a new four-track EP by Amelia Tokarska and Paweł Biliński, was officially released on October 30, 2026. Published by HIGHLAND PRODUCTIONS ®, the release features previously unreleased material from the original “Celtic Harp Tales” recording sessions, presenting four additional interpretations developed as part of the project.

Recorded between February and November 2023 at Cavatina Hall Studio in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, the EP explores two different aspects of the “Celtic Harp Tales” sound. “Arran Boat Song” and “Bonny Portmore” appear in solo harp versions performed by Amelia Tokarska, focusing on the instrument’s natural resonance, dynamics and expressive character. In contrast, “A Lament for Culloden” features an extended ensemble arrangement with Paweł Biliński on keyboards, Krzysztof Maciejowski on 5-string electric violin, Marcin Rumiński on whistles and Sławek Berny on percussion. The fourth piece, “Is This the Last Farewell?”, completes the collection.

All four compositions were originally written and arranged by Paweł Biliński, drawing on traditional Celtic songs and musical themes. Biliński was also responsible for the EP’s production and artistic direction. The recording sessions were engineered by Piotr Wilmanowicz, while Tadeusz Mieczkowski handled sound engineering, mixing and mastering.

Although the material was recorded during the production of the original “Celtic Harp Tales” album, these tracks were not included in its final selection. Their release as a separate EP provides an opportunity to revisit the original sessions and explore additional musical ideas, from intimate acoustic harp performances to more elaborate contemporary arrangements.

“Lost Whispers” (HP001-EP) is now available on Bandcamp for streaming and digital download, including high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio.

Celtic Tales Quartet autumn&winter tour completed

2026-05-22

ameliatokarska, arranger, celtictalesquartet, composer, dolbyatmos, highlandproductions, newalbum, pawelbilinski, producer, tadeuszmieczkowski

The Amelia Tokarska Celtic Tales Quartet autumn&winter tour has officially come to an end. The ensemble – Amelia Tokarska (harp), Paweł Biliński (keyboards, piano), Sławek Berny (percussion) and Krzysztof Maciejowski (5-string electric violin) – performed eight concerts across Poland, including appearances at the legendary Studio S1 of Polish Radio in Warsaw, the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, MOS Kraków and CKK Jordanki in Toruń. Nearly 3,000 listeners, an average attendance of 98% and several sold-out shows made the tour a major step in the development of the project. The concerts were produced by Paweł Biliński under his HIGHLAND PRODUCTIONS ® brand, with Biliński also responsible for the project’s arrangements and overall musical production.

From the beginning, the tour was conceived not only as a series of live performances, but also as the foundation for future audio and video productions. Selected concerts were captured in professional multitrack formats, with a recording setup designed to preserve the acoustic detail of Amelia Tokarska’s harp while integrating electric violin, percussion, piano, synthesizers and electronics into a coherent live sound. The production made extensive use of DPA microphones and Yamahiko contact microphones, particularly in developing the harp’s live and recording setup. Wojciech Kościelniak was responsible for sound engineering throughout the tour, while the lighting design and realization was handled by Błażej Kotala.

One of the key production points was the concert at Studio S1 of Polish Radio in Warsaw, recorded with Tadeusz Mieczkowski for both conventional stereo and Dolby Atmos immersive audio production. The recording continued the technical approach developed during the production of the original Celtic Harp Tales album, where Biliński and Mieczkowski worked extensively on capturing the natural dynamics, transients and spatial character of the Celtic harp. The live production expands this concept considerably, combining close and contact microphone techniques with the natural acoustics of the concert space and a full multitrack recording environment.

With the tour completed, the project is now entering an extensive editing, mixing and post-production stage led by Paweł Biliński. The collected material will form the basis of a series of new Celtic Tales Quartet releases planned from autumn 2026, ranging from digital and streaming editions to 4K concert videos, Dolby Atmos immersive mixes, CD and vinyl releases. Rather than serving simply as documentation of the tour, the recordings are being developed as fully produced concert releases – bringing together the energy of the live performances with the detailed production approach that has defined the Celtic Harp Tales project from the beginning.

It is a piece that expresses the deepest longing for elemental nature and our roots. This Irish tune, adapted, is a journey into distant times and a song in honour of the Great Oak of Portmore. Once again, the simple but distinctly beautiful melody reminds us essence of the tale.

It’s a simple but lovely song related to Scotland’s 18th century history. Although its origin story reminds sad and painful events, it is often associated with a farewell song. Paweł Biliński has chosen this traditional song and arranged it in a minimalist approach to bring out the maximum amount of emotion from a simple but profoundly beautiful melody. Here you’ll hear Celtic harp by Amelia Tokarska, 5-string violin (sounds like viola, that’s right) by Krzysztof Maciejowski, magical additions of percussion by Sławek Berny and some of my keyboard spaces.

Another album underway

2024-05-06

arranger, composer, dolbyatmos, krzysztofmaciejowski, newalbum, producer, tadeuszmieczkowski

Definitely shorter this time, but lots of specifics to share with you. As I wrote a few months ago, together with my friend, the excellent violinist and arranger Krzysztof Maciejowski, we recorded a concept album. The recording sessions took place in August last year. The sound engineer was Tadeusz Mieczkowski, who realised the recording in full Dolby Atmos™ standard ready for Binaural listening as well, using a dozen DPA microphones and more. What we were aiming for was to bring out a warm homemade sound, so the recordings took place in a flat in a 100-year-old building. The main instruments on the album are a 70-year-old piano and a 5-string violin.

The album is meant to be a collection of stories about longing for a carefree childhood as seen from an adult’s perspective. It is a journey between warm and cold colours, between joy and sadness, between the sunrises and sunsets of passing days.

We’ll be sharing the next stages of production soon, but for now, keep your fingers crossed for the mixes to close.

Stay tuned!
